Quail Hollow State Park

Quail Hollow State Park, located outside Hartville, Ohio, is a wonderful example of rolling meadows, marshes, pine and deciduous woods surrounding a 40-room manor. Scenic woodland trails, gardens and the house offer a variety of natural and cultural experiences for visitors.

Jackson Bog State Nature Preserve

Jackson Bog is a 57-acre preserve located in northern Stark County and owned by the Jackson Township Local Board of Education. Jackson Bog supports more than 20 state-listed rare plants. Summer is the best time to view its populations of flowering and carnivorous plants including northern pitcher plant and shrubby cinquefoil.

Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail

The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail is a 25-mile hiking, bicycling and horseback riding trail maintained by the Stark County Park District. The trail follows the route of the historic Ohio & Erie Canal through Canal Fulton, Massillon and Navarre. Other sections of the trail are available in Cuyahoga, Summit and Tuscarawas Counties. The trail is open from dawn to dusk.

The Stark Parks manages 10 parks, four lakes and 40 miles of trails. Bring your family for fishing, boating, hiking, bicycling and a fun picnic. Open daily 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Alliance Parks & Recreation

The Alliance Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Lands maintains 24 parks and parklands, ranging from small neighborhood green spaces to 60-acre Butler-Rodman Park Complex. Throughout the park system, shelters are available for public use during park hours and can be reserved for a small fee by contacting the Park Office. The Exploration Gateway

Exhibits opening in late 2007 will showcase the natural and cultural history of the Ohio & Erie Canal. Perry Township Parks & Recreation

Perry Township feature Summerdale and Perry Parks. Both parks have pavilions and ball fields that can be reserved. Reservations for these parks can be made by calling the Township Office. There is no cost for reserving the park facilities and reservations are made on a "first call" basis. Make your reservations early because the parks are booked months in advance.

Plain Township Parks & Recreation

The Plain Township Parks and Recreation Department currently totals 102 acres, which includes Alpine Park, Diamond Community Park, and Schneider Street property.
